It is nearing the end of the working week at Thompson and French’s HQ in Hope Street. Our company has a rich history and reputation for creating the highest quality maps in the country.
Our team is finishing off an exciting project for the Post Office’s Directory. We are busily mapping Glasgow and it’s surrounding burghs for their latest edition. It is fascinating as the Glasgow compass is marked by Govan in the South, Partick in the West, Springburn in the North and Camlachie in the East.
This map will mark this historic point of the city’s development and we are putting everything into it. We have less than a month to finish it.
The clock strikes 5pm. We are heading to the Scotia Bar for a well deserved pint of J&R Tennent. It is everyone’s favourite beer. Sometimes the wind from the East brings a delicious smell from the Wellpark brewery. In fact it featured in the Glasgow Herald at the weekend and ranked as the world’s largest beer, stout and ale exporter.
The weekend is here. A few pints in the Scotia Bar with work colleagues before heading back to Strathbungo. I better not drink too much. I have a game tomorrow and Mr Black would not be too impressed if I turned up worse for wear.
